STEUBENVILLE - The sexual assault advocate for the Alternatives to Living in Violent Environments Inc. agency was introduced during the Friday luncheon meeting of the city Rotary Club at the North Fourth Street YWCA.
Marisa Bortz, guest speaker, told Rotarians the A.L.I.V.E. shelter had taken over sexual assault support services in Jefferson County, and she was now advocate for the agency.
"We now have a more comprehensive approach," said Bortz, adding while the county still handles the law enforcement aspects, sexual assault services are now handled by the A.L.I.V.E. shelter.
